In 2025, we held a meeting with our partners from Zanzibar to reflect on five years of cooperation and to look ahead to the future of this project.
Over the past few years, we have been consistently developing an international partnership with Zanzibar Attorneys, led by Joseph Magazi and Karume Mrisho, combining European legal standards with in-depth local expertise from East Africa.
This cooperation has enabled us to gain unique know-how and hands-on experience in handling cross-border investments, particularly in the hospitality sector and projects carried out by individual investors. Despite cultural differences, we have successfully delivered numerous joint projects, building efficient and sustainable models of cooperation.
The key value of this partnership lies in ensuring legal security for our clients, who benefit simultaneously from the expertise of European and African lawyers. This integrated approach allows for more effective cross-border legal services, a better understanding of local legal environments, and clearer communication with international clients without the need to engage multiple independent law firms.
An important advantage is the extensive local network of our Zanzibar-based partners, including strong relationships with public authorities, which translates into more efficient problem-solving for our clients. This position was further strengthened when Joseph Magazi was appointed President of the Zanzibar Bar Association, significantly expanding the firm’s professional network.
As a result of this cooperation, we have seen a substantial increase in client interest in investments in Zanzibar. Our firm remains committed to further international growth and plans to expand this cooperation model to additional jurisdictions.
